The program for the Public Meeting, this Wednesday 31st July, has  just been released by Mayor Peter Gandolfi Wattle Range Council.  Mr Gandolfi said that the program is subject to change but the following speakers are expected to address the meeting.

Don Gilbertson – former Chair of the Millicent Hospital Board .

·         Glenn Brown – Former Millicent Hospital CEO and Millicent Hospital Advisory Council spokesman

·         Bill Murray – Chair of the Penola Medical Support Group

·         Dr Van Eeden – Partner at Millicent Medical Clinic

·         Dr Pretorius – Former Penola doctor (via pre-recorded video)

·         Nurses’ and Midwifery Federation – Rosie Radcliff

·         Jayne Downs – Regional Director, Country Health SA

·         Ms Helen Chalmers – Chief Operating Officer, Country Health SA (on behalf of the Minister)

  1. This is Mitch’s home town, in his electorate.
    Why isn’t he coming to the meeting?

    • Hi Trevor, Mitch will be overseas at that time but he has already addressed State parliament regarding the situation and will be taking the petitions to parlimament also.

    I wonder if anyone from the Rural Doctors Association of SA could comment? Either the president? or perhaps the CHSA obstetric lead – after all, once obstetrics is lost, the rest invariably follows…

  3. Looks to be a packed program. 10 speakers @7.5 minutes each. Not sure how that will go in getting to the nub of the problem. Can see it all getting a little diffuse with lots of agendas and geographic locations involved. Still, there’s always question time. Looking forward to it.
