The Millicent Men’s Shed was open for visitors on Thursday 3rd October as part of Seniors week giving members of the public a chance to visit and inspect what goes on during a normal day. The shed is well equipped with lathes and tools and projects, saw-dust and the smell of wood.

The shed was officially opened during last years Geltwood Festival and has been busy with projects since then. Ern Bentley said they have recently made several bird houses or nesting boxes as samples and will eventually make a number of these to be placed in and around the local parks and woodlands.

Ted Lucas has spent 100 hours using his wood working skills to make a table and two 2-seater out-door setting. The outdoor setting will be raffled to raise funds for the Men’s Shed and will be drawn on December 24th 2013. Second prize is a $100-00 Voucher and third prize is a $50-00 voucher.
