Country Health SA announced on Monday that Nangwarry Medical Clinic has received accreditation from the Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL), which developed the award jointly with various doctors’ organizations, including the Australian Medical Association.
.To achieve accreditation, a team at the clinic worked for 12 months to implement the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Standards for General Practices, which is the recognized standard nationally for assessment for general practice.
Jayne Downs, South East Regional Director for Country Health SA, said the AGPAL accreditation highlighted how Nangwarry Medical Clinic makes a significant investment in quality on a day-to-day basis.
AGPAL Chair Dr Richard Chong congratulated Nangwarry Medical Clinic on achieving accreditation.
“Achieving accreditation is a major achievement and is a clear demonstration that Nangwarry Medical Clinic is improving its level of service to both patients and the community,” he said.
Penola Medical Centre was accredited by the AGPAL in 2011
The Medical Clinic Millicent was scrutinized by AGPAL in August 2013 with excellent feedback Practice Manager Anne Bierwirth said. It is a three yearly process and all areas of the clinic were checked, overall facilities, operation, documentation, compliances and clinical notes. Accreditation requires that organization such as the Medical Clinic, comply with PACGP 4th Standards.
The AGPAL accreditation program is a voluntary national program that aims to provide a range of guarantees to patients by accrediting the practice environment
Nangwarry and Penola are Country Health SA owned Clinics.
The Medical Clinic Millicent is owned by the Medical linic Partners.
