‘The Department of Planning Transport and Infrastructure announced today that motorists will soon enjoy a better ride on the Riddoch Highway with maintenance works to improve the road surface beginning Friday, 1 November 2013. The work will be carried out daily between 7.00 am and 5.30 pm.
DPTI will make every effort to minimise the impact on road users during construction with the road remaining open to traffic although minor lane restrictions were be put in place while works are undertaken.
DPTI advises a 25 km/h speed restriction will apply when workers are on site, with a maximum speed restriction of 80 km/h at other times until line marking is complete.
Works are expected to be completed by mid November 2013, weather permitting.
The works are being carried out at a cost of $250,000 as part of the State Government’s Periodic Road Maintenance Program.
