Ladies’ Handicap Pairs
Thursday 5th December 2013 saw the 2013-14 Ladies’ Handicap Pairs Championship decided.
The contest was a knockout competition, being held over 2 days. The pairs were drawn.
The grand final was a very close contest between Merle Stevens with Helen Clifford, and Marg Fennell with Carlene Godden.
After 6 ends they were even, and then Fennell and Godden drew away to a 6 shot lead. Stevens and Clifford then answered with 6 shots, making the score once again even with 2 ends to go.
Fennell and Godden added 3 shots, with Stevens and Clifford countering with a 2.
Marg Fennell and Carlene Godden won the contest 21 shots to 20.
The standard of the bowling was very high, and greatly enjoyed by those watching from the warmth of the clubhouse.
