Lt Gen. Ken Gillespie sends greetings from White Ribbon

White Ribbon Australia
December 2013
From the Chair

As we approach the end of another year in our campaign to change our Nation’s attitude to the issue of violence against women, we are reconciling what has been clearly our best White Ribbon Day in Australia.

While we are naturally proud of what we’ve achieved, and noting that we are clearly making inroads into making our population aware of the issue, we are still far from bringing about the reform we need. We have a long way to go before all men in Australia can hold their heads high. One of the very pleasing aspects of the campaign this year has been the growth in the number of active Ambassadors and the tremendous work these trail blazing Australian men are doing to ensure that we really do move the campaign forward.

I could not be more delighted with the support so many Australians have brought to the organisation, its goals and its reputation this year. With your help we are in more States, more communities, more workplaces and more schools than ever before. Big or small, your efforts are truly praiseworthy.

The Board, the CEO and the staff of White Ribbon are in your debt. Have a great festive season and stay vigilant. Thank you all. We look forward to working with you again in 2014.
Lt Gen. Ken Gillespie (Retired)
Chair
