The Advertiser reported today that a 45 year old man has been charged with driving with out due care and driving while disqualified following a serious accident near Millicent on Saturday 1st February.
It was reported that the vehicle left the road at Hatherleigh and rolled just after 4 pm.
The driver sustained minor injuries but the passenger a 29 year old man was thrown from the vehicle and was flown to Flinders Medical Centre.
Detective Inspector Peter Duance, Officer in Charge of Traffic Investigations said the driver had no regard for the safety of others.
“He clearly had no regard for anyone’s safety or the law as the preliminary investigation has already revealed that alcohol consumption was a contributing factor in this collision,” he said.
“The passenger also appears to have little regard for his own safety as investigations have revealed that he was not wearing a seatbelt as he was thrown from the vehicle yet amazingly escape serious injury.”
