Bevon Turner Memorial Day
The 5th Annual Bevon Turner Memorial Day was held on Thursday 20th February in memory of a stalwart of the Millicent Bowling Club.
The day was held in conjunction with the Wattle Range Funerals 2-4-2 & the winning teams were Alan Strother & Peter Varcoe (30+1), Peter Hyland & Bill Burdon (30+1), Ray Doecke & Bruce Pettman (30+3), Malcolm McRobert & Lindsay Warneke (30+11), Ron Trewin & Brian Atkinson (31+5) &, in fourth place were John Drew & Denis Clifford (31+7).
Beth Turner presented the consolation winners & the top 3 teams with their prizes. They were, in third place Jim Earl & Ed Fitter (31+9), in second place Bill Cattanach & Jeff Hollingsworth (32+3) & finishing on top were David Botting & Bill Davis (33+7) with the consolation prize going to Paul Ryan & Wayne Burris.
Not satisfied with one prize, Bill Cattanach also won the Chris’s Barber Shop haircut draw.
Unfortunately Peter Saunders had a fall early in play & could not continue. We all wish him a speedy recovery
