Two teenage girls in accident
Two teenage girls were taken to hospital last night (Sat) after a car rolled at Wandilo in the State’s South-East. At about 6pm a car travelling on the unsealed Hinton Road, hit an embankment and rolled several times. The 17-year-old driver and her 16-year-old passenger were both taken to hospital with minor injuries. Kalangadoo Police attended the crash and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Drink driver reported Penola
Meanwhile a Limestone Coast man has been reported for drink driving after he registered a blood alcohol reading of nearly three times over the legal limit this morning at Penola. Just before 3am, Penola Police stopped a car travelling on Riddoch Highway Penola after the driver failed to dip his headlights off high-beam. The male driver submitted to a breath test, allegedly returning a blood alcohol reading of 0.148 nearly three times over the legal limit of 0.05. The 69-year-old man from the Limestone Coast was reported for drink driving, his licence was suspended immediately for six months and this car was impounded for 28 days. The man will also be summonsed to appear in the Millicent Magistrates Court at a later date.
