It is with great sadness that we learned this morning that lifetime sponsor and friend of this radio station, 5 THE FM, Mr Bob Foster, passed away last evening.

Bob visited 5 THE FM earlier this year to see the renovations and in particular the new broadcast studio. Bob is pictured above with Courtney and Rebekah on this visit.

Chairman of 5THE FM Boyd Groeneveld said today he was saddened to hear of Bob’s passing,

“This is the passing of a genuinely good man, they just don’t make them like Bob Foster anymore,” said Mr Groeneveld.

From everyone at 5THE FM AND wattlerangenow, our sincere thoughts and prayers are with Bob’s wife and family at very this sad time.

  1. What a lovely description of Mr Foster, a genuinely good man. A huge supporter of our community, a tradition that is followed by Brian. Thank you for all you have done to contribute to the Wattle Range community over the years.

  2. From “Mr Foster” or “Bob” in the shop to his customers, “Boss” to his staff and a hugely generous community member. A true gentleman who will be greatly missed. Our condolences to the Foster family.
