by Sue Pappin for 5 THE FM newsonlinewattlerangenow
Sue Pappin, Sue Vanderheul (Millicent) Sue Vanderheul (Mt Burr) and Sue Pollard, hosted the event for the first time and another record was set with a grand total of $2726.85 being banked. $1423.40 was raised at the 2014 event which doesn’t include a donation of $300.00 from the Millicent Lioness Club and $270.00 raised at Banksia House which included ABMT mug sales. The grand total also includes ABMT mugs sold at the Rendelsham ABMT and at Beachport Medical Services, along with donations handed in before and after the event those who were unable to attend the morning tea.
This amazing total would not have been possible without the support of the Millicent Community. The 4 Sues appreciate the support of the S.E. Times and 5 THE FM and the Millicent businesses and loyal supporters who donate all the raffle and door prizes.
The Presbyterian Church and members of the congregation have supported the ABMT for 8 years now as the number of people attending has grown too big for the Sues to manage on their own. They help with catering, do a lot of work in the kitchen then help to clear the hall after the event.
Since Sue Pappin first hosted an Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea at her home fifteen years ago in 2000 she and her co-hosts, along with their many supporters, have raised a little over $16,000 just by having ‘a cuppa that counts’.
