The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for damaging winds and heavy rainfall for people in the Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, Flinders, Mid North and parts of the Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Murraylands and Upper South East districts.
Localised heavy rainfall, which may lead to flash flooding, is also possible around the Adelaide area, the Mount Lofty Ranges and Mid North districts, possibly extending to Kangaroo Island and the Upper South East from late afternoon.
In particular the Bureau has issued a minor flood warning for the Onkaparinga River, advising that people should keep away from fast flowing water.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should move vehicles under cover, secure loose items, keep clear of creeks and storm drain and not drive through floodwaters.
