Introducing Rowdy and Argus

SAPOL

Meet Rowdy and Argus – two potential police dogs currently with the SA Police Puppy Development Program.

The program, which has been running since April 2010, sees volunteers care for and socialise puppies to prepare them for a general purpose police dog course.

Typically the dogs live with the trained Puppy Development Officers for a year during which time they are regularly assessed by members of the Dog Operations Unit.

Rowdy (right), is about 11 months old, has been with the program since April while Argus (left) is only three months old and has been with the program for just three weeks.
