Police appeal to the public attending the coming football finals, to enjoy the football, but take care driving. They will be targeting the five main factors which contribute to road trauma but urge drivers to take responsibility for their own actions.
Enjoy the footy this weekend, and drive safely is the message the police want to get across to the public.
This coming weekend police in the Limestone Coast Local Service Area will be monitoring the football crowds at the grounds and travelling to them, as local finals begin in the Mid South East league.
The five main factors which contribute to road trauma continue to be drink and drug driving, speeding, failing to wear seatbelts, distraction by using items such as mobile phones and dangerous drivers.
The first final will be held at Glencoe on 23 August and the second final on 30 August at Hatherleigh. Limestone Coast police will be active in policing the Fatal Five but all drivers are urged to take responsibility for their own actions when travelling to and from the football.
