Police alarmed at number of drug drivers

Limestone Coast Highway Patrol have detected five drug drivers in the last 24hrs.
Police will allege, all five drivers returned positive to Methamphetamine and the samples will be further forensically tested.
The drivers, a 25 year-old woman from Naracoorte, a 30-year-old woman from Mount Gambier and 3 men aged 27, 30 and 37 were directed not to drive for 24 hours and will be spoken to further once the the tests have been forensically tested.
Sergeant Rex Heins, Officer in Charge Limestone Coast Highway Patrol said “We are alarmed at the number of irresponsible drug drivers caught especially in such a small period of time. It is very frustrating for police that drivers are willing to take all the risks associated with driving under the influence of drugs. They are putting every road user at risk”.
