Gwenda Lawlor seeks re-election in Corcoran Ward

‘As an experienced female candidate, I seek re-election for a further term as your representative in Corcoran Ward. I care for the wellbeing of my community and I believe in supporting Millicent and Tantanoola and surrounding rural areas in Economic Development, value adding and expanding our primary production, expanding the commercial business base and supporting new initiatives and financial sustainability, through sound management, balanced budgets and good governance.

I represent the community on Regional Development Australia Limestone Coast, the Mount Gambier District Hospital Advisory Council. I am a Justice of the Peace, have a background in business and farming.

I reside at Furner on the family farm, wife of the late Harry, mother of Ann and Patrick and Gran to Izzy, Tom, Teej and Raff.

I am a life member of the Kangaroo Area School Welfare Club and was a long time Treasurer of the school for 12 years.

Over the years I have sat on many and varied Council committees and was Chairman of the Beachport District Council at amalgamation in 1997.

I support Asset Management which includes maintenance of the road network, upkeep of the community buildings, all achieved in an affordable and cost-effective manner.

I support families; Communities thrive with assurances that local facilities, e.g. roads, footways, parklands, sporting facilities, hospital, bike trails and walking trails and the Civic and Arts Centre will be available for all age groups – the young, teenagers, young families, disabled, retired and the aged. I will continue to Advocate for our Millicent Hospital’
