South Australia’s water industry experts were honoured (tonight – Friday) at the Australian Water Association’s SA annual awards in Adelaide and among the recipients was the Department of Environment Water and South East Natural Resource Management Board
Water and River Murray Minister Ian Hunter said the Awards were an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding performers in the industry and look back on the significant achievements of the water sector throughout the year.
“The Australian Water Association has been operating since 1962 and has become an important and influential body of Australia’s water industry with more than 5000 individual and corporate members nationally,” Mr Hunter said.
“This year’s recipients reflect the innovative spirit and demonstrate the high level of water expertise that exists here in South Australia.
“With the contributions of people of the calibre of tonight’s award winners, the future of South Australia’s Water industry looks bright.
“We are now in a great position to begin sharing and exporting our substantial expertise in areas such as irrigation, water harvesting and aquifer recharge, water quality testing, wastewater treatment plants, and, of course, our policy and legislative framework.”
