The spirit of Christmas, the season of giving and caring for each other has prompted local woman Kaylene, to host a family Christmas Lunch on Christmas Day for all people who may be spending Christmas alone.
Many people spend Christmas alone for a variety of reasons. Sometimes distance creates a problem with families apart for Christmas, some times children spend Christmas day divided between parents leaving one parent alone for part of the day. Sometimes illness or death creates an aloneness for people and it these people and others that may be spending Christmas alone for a variety of reasons that Kaylene wants to invite to spend Christmas with her and each other.
The lunch will be held in St Alphonsus Hall, George Street Millicent and will be served at 12-30pm on Christmas Day.
The Family Lunch is a personal project of Kaylene’s, it is not affiliated with any organisation but she has already been offered ‘helping hands’ on the day and while Kaylene is quick to say she is not asking for help, she is grateful for any assistance or goods offered.
Kaylene also wants sole mums and dads to know they are welcome to attend the lunch with their children.
Kaylene needs to know numbers for catering purpose so if you’d like to accept Kaylene’s invitation to lunch, rather than spend it alone, please call into Buds Florist, Absolutely Anything, Java Cafe or Ottoson Partners Real Estate to register or call Kaylene direct on 0417 997 332.
Bookings must be made by December 24th to allow time for planning.
