The State Liberal Leader Steven Marshall said today (Monday) that the State Liberals will scrap Labor’s increases to the Emergency Services Levy and urges South Australian’s to support this move.
Mr Marshall said in a statement released today:-
‘The State Liberals have announced that we will scrap Labor’s massive increases to the Emergency Services Levy that were introduced in last year’s State Budget.
South Australian families and businesses have been slugged with massive increases. The average family household has been forced to pay increases of up to 1000%, as well as hikes on motor vehicle registration charges and community and sporting groups.
Because Labor can’t manage their own budget, they slugged our household budgets, he said.
Our plan will take the burden off South Australian families and will reduce cost of living pressures that are becoming too much for many of us to absorb. We will pay for this family tax cut by fully implementing our public sector efficiency policy and cutting Labor’s waste and mismanagement.
We will keep fighting against tax grabs from this Labor Government that recklessly wastes money and then passes on the bill to you. Last year we successfully blocked Labor’s Car Park Tax and announced an inquiry into water prices to uncover if Labor has been overcharging customers.
Mr Marshall urged South Australians to sign the petition against Labor’s ESL hikes on: http://www.eslhikeshurt.com
We will keep standing up for South Australians and keep Jay Weatherill and Tom Koutsantonis’ hands out of your hip pocket,’ he said.
