Man arrested after theft from surf beach at Beachport



A man has been arrested for theft and cultivating cannabis after a body board and wet suit were stolen from the surf beach at Beachport.

On Sunday 8 February Police received a report that a man on a quad bike had stolen items from the beach. Enquiries led Police to search a Beachport house where they recovered the stolen items along with gardening tools believed to be stolen during a serious criminal trespass at Beachport on Monday 19 January.

During the search Police also found 5 cannabis plants.

A 39-year-old man from Beachport was arrested and charged with theft and cultivating cannabis. He will appear in the Millicent Magistrates Court on 25 March 2015.

Investigations are continuing into the serious criminal trespass that occurred on 19 January.
