Distinctive Kingswood found burnt out near Millicent

Police are investigating a suspicious fire earlier tonight at Furner in the State’s south east.

At about 6pm, police and CFS crews were called to the pine forest near Reedy Lagoon Road after reports of a vehicle on fire.

CFS crews put out the blaze however, the car was completely destroyed along with about a hectare of scrub and pine plantation.

Checks revealed the car to be a HZ Holden Kingswood sedan which had been reported as stolen from Pick Avenue in Mount Gambier overnight.

Witnesses reported seeing the stolen Kingswood being towed along Furner Road by a red Holden utility just after 4pm.

A yellow or gold Holden Commodore was also seen following the utility.
