Sadly we announce the passing of Solicitor Boyd Groeneveld, in the early hours of Sunday morning 22nd March 2015. His wife Helen was by his side.
Boyd was diagnosed with glioplastoma, an aggressive brain tumour, in February 2014. He had 2 surgeries, radiation and chemotherapy but succumbed this weekend after a determined battle.
Boyd always said he was optimistic, but realistic about his diagnosis.
A close colleague said of Boyd just days ago “he was a brilliant lawyer, a humble man, and also very community minded.”
Boyd was the current Chairman of 5THE FM.
Boyd is survived by his cherished wife Helen and adored teenage son Konrad.

So sad to hear of the passing of Boyd, he was a calming influence as the Chair of the Board, and his steadying influence took 5THE FM in a new direction. Boyd was a lovely man, a quiet achiever, helping so many of Millicent’s less fortunate people. My deepest sympathy to Helen and Konrad, he was lucky to have you and he knew it.
