Ready to hoist

Bill Thoroughgood and Allen Crowe ready to hoist the Australian flag at 5THE FM for Anzac Day

5THE FM’ers Bill Thoroughgood and Allen Crowe admire their handiwork as they hoist the Australian flag just in time for Anzac Day. Both retired tradesman have been busy around the station building, repairing and  generally being very handy.

Their latest project being the newly made flag pole, just in time to honour the Anzacs on Saturday. With combined welding skills and some creativity;  a wish turned into a reality by lunchtime Tuesday. Thursday saw them hoist the Australian flag for the first time, as the paint was still  drying, just to make sure it would unfurl as the breeze wafted past.

5THE FM will be broadcasting the Millicent Anzac March and the Service at the Cross of Sacrifice live on Anzac Day Saturday 25th April  on 107.7.

We will cross  from Saturday Morning Jukebox to the ceremony at approximately 10-00 am.

  1. Great to see guys. I hope the weather is going to be kind for all the ANZAC marchers. It is pouring and some hail as well here in Inglewood. And they expect it to be the same tomorrow. I’ll be with the Dutch marchers, wearing Bill’s medals. LEST WE FORGET.

  2. well done boys. Great effort
