Community membership sought for Boat Ramp Advisory Committee



Wattle Range Council has called for interested members from the community of Beachport to nominate for membership of its newly formed Beachport Boat Ramp Advisory Committee.

Established under Section 41 of the Local Government Act 1999, the Committee will be responsible for advising Council on issues surrounding the maintenance, operation, management
and improvement of the boat ramp facilities in their town.

In accordance with the Committee’s charter Council are seeking nominations for three positions representative of the seaside community. One being a recreational fisherman who uses the boat
ramp facility and the other two simply being representatives of the local community.

Along with delegates from Council, the Beachport District Development Association and the Beachport Professional Fishers Association, the successful nominees will be appointed for a term
coinciding with the term of the current Council, which expires in November 2018.

“Interested members of the community with relevant experience and expertise are encouraged to nominate” Council Chief Executive, Mr Peter Harriott said. “The Committee will perform an
integral role in ensuring that the needs of the Beachport community and its visitors are met in relation to the function of the facility and its surrounds”.

Copies of the Committee Charter and Nomination Form are available from any of Council’s offices during office hours or Council’s website at http://www.wattlerange.sa.gov.au.

Completed Nomination Forms, providing Council with an outline of your interest, any relevant expertise you may bring to the Committee and any other details, should be forwarded to Wattle
Range Council, by mail to PO Box 27, Millicent SA 5280 or emailed to council@wattlerange.sa.gov.au by 5 pm on Friday 11 September 2015.
