Police investigate hay bale fire at Yahl

 Police are urging residents of Yahl to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity following a spate of hay bale fires in the region.

Limestone Coast police have received six reports of hay bale fires within the last three weeks in the Yahl area, south of Mount Gambier.

The earliest incident was this morning where police and CFS crews attended to a property on Caroline Headquarters Road just after 6am following reports that eight hay bales were on fire.

A cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

Residents who witness any suspicious activity in the area are asked to call police immediately on 131 444, and anyone with information on the fires is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at https://sa.crimestoppers.com.au
