Have your say on South East Health Services?

Country Health SA is launching a community engagement initiative inviting South East communities to have their say on their Health Services in a statement today saying:-
‘South East residents are being invited to provide their views on health services in the district via a new community engagement initiative. Regional Director of the South East Health Service (SEHS), Jayne Downs, called on locals to join the SEHS Community Network, which will see a diverse ‘pool’ of people from across the district provide feedback.
“Community network members will provide us with a really important viewpoint on new ideas, projects or developments to support the care we provide,” said Ms Downs.
“You tell us what areas of health you are interested in, and how you want to be involved – be it attending forums from time to time, sitting on committees or helping ensure our written health information is easily understood before we publish it.
“We are looking forward to working with the community to ensure our health services continue to be welcoming and safe, with locals at the centre of everything we do.”
For more information on how to be involved, people are urged to drop by one of the displays or street stalls happening across the South East over the next week, starting tomorrow in Mount Gambier and Kingston:
Mount Gambier – Mount Gambier Central Shopping Centre on Tuesday, 20 October, from 10-11am.
Kingston – Kingston Pharmacy/ANZ branch on Tuesday, 20 October, from 1-2pm
Bordertown – Foodland Supermarket on Wednesday, 21 October, from 11am-12 noon.
Naracoorte – Kincraig Plaza on Thursday, 22 October, from 2-4pm.
Penola – IGA Supermarket on Thursday, 22 October, from 1-3pm.
Millicent – Woolworths Supermarket on Tuesday, 27 October, from 1.30-2.30pm.
Ms Downs said Expressions of Interest forms were available from all South East Hospitals and Community Health Centres.
“Once people have registered their interest, they will receive a ‘welcome pack’ along with the information about the contact person at their nearest health service,” Ms Downs said.
Completed forms can be posted to Community Network – Safety and Quality, PO Box 267, Mount Gambier SA 5290.
Any questions in the meantime can be directed to the SEHS Community Network team by calling 08 8721 1578.’
