Man missing off Carpenter Rocks

Police and emergency services are responding to reports that a man is missing in the water near Carpenter Rocks in the State’s south east.

Just after 4.30pm, police received a report that a man had gone missing while snorkelling off the reef near the Carpenter Rocks lighthouse.

Police are searching the area.

Man reported for a number of traffic offences

A 21-year-old Millicent man was reported for driving while his licence was disqualified, driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle and for driving without a helmet after he was detected driving a quad bike on Giddings Street, Millicent Tuesday afternoon (11th February).

The quad bike has been impounded for 28 days.

The man will appear in the Millicent Magistrates Court at a later date.

Man reported for drive disqualified – Millicent

Police have reported a 19-year-old man from Millicent for drive disqualified after he was stopped on Williams Road about 3.25pm in Wednesday the 5th February.

He will appear in Court at a later date.

Motorists driving disqualified may not believe it is a ‘big deal’, but be warned – the driver will now appear in court face a hefty fine to release his car.

Victorian bushfire smoke drifts into SA

A message from the Country Fire Service – the bushfires currently burning in Victoria are causing smoke to drift over the border into South Australia.

A smoke haze is affecting the lower south-east of the state, with reports of smoke being visible in the towns of Mount Gambier and Naracoorte.

The public is advised to report any sightings of unattended active flame immediately to triple zero.

Residents and travellers in these areas are advised to remain vigilant at all times during the Fire Danger Season, and to exercise caution if travelling through any smoke affected areas.
